Tango coaching course in the rehabilitation of people living with Parkinson

Modality: face-to-face. Theory and practice.

 

Options of the course:

 - Full Intensive: 1 week duration. Monday through Friday. 4 hours per day. 20 hours total. 

- Intensive: 2 weeks duration. Monday through Friday. 2 hours per day. 20 hours total. 

 

Language: English and/or Spanish.

 

Geared towards: This course is geared towards university students from different disciplines, professors from different departments or for any individual from the university community interested in learning Tango as a rehabilitation tool for people living with Parkinson.

 

About: attendees will learn how the Tango embrace has become an important therapeutic device to aid in the rehabilitation of people who suffer from Parkinson disease. The traits of this dance can adapt to the specific necessities of each patient.

Through this course they will understand different aspects of Tango as a rehabilitation tool and as a form of Art Therapy, as well as practice a series of exercises in which the motor and cognitive system and other topics such as prevention of falls and accidents, emotional state of the patient and his socialization are involved.

About: using the Easy Tango teaching method students will learn the secrets of this captivating dance.

Through a methodology exclusively designed for those who have no previous experience in Tango, this course offers the opportunity to enjoy and dominate the main aspects on Tango from the first day, using the embrace as a communication device. Walks, figures, dance sequences, musicality and expressiveness will be the main topics treated in this attractive course created by Diego López, Tango coach, oriented towards the university community.

About: Attendees will learn about Tango’s history, music, poetry, literature, language, visual arts, iconic characters and evolution as Argentina’s social witness.
This is an attractive course to dive deep into this cultural universe that has globalized and has similarities with Jazz’s history, both of them being urban occidental genres that have transcended their frontiers.
This course was carefully created so that attendees will learn about Tango’s family tree and incorporate new knowledge to their cultural heritage.

This course is available in three different modalities:
- Full Intensive: 1 week of duration, Monday through Saturday, 6 hours per day, 36 hours total.

- Intensive: 2 weeks of duration, Monday through Friday, 4 hours per day, 40 hours total. 
- Semi-intensive: 4 weeks of duration, Monday through Friday, 2 hours per day, 40 hours total. 

 

Language: English or Spanish

 

Geared towards: This course is geared towards university students from different disciplines, university professors from different departments and any individual from the university community interested in approaching the cultural universe of Tango. 

 

Objectives: Using the Easy Tango teaching method, students will learn about Tango's history, music, poetry, the main traits of Argentine culture and fundamentally its dance, to be able to teach it to anyone who has interest in learning.
